• Translations
  During my studies I specialized on technical translations, also in real life there is more demand for technical translations than for any other type. Here in Andalusia I gathered a lot of experience with translations of all kind of contracts and documents, such as rental contracts, bills of sale, court sentences, etc. Basically, however, I accept all kind of orders.
  I am German; nevertheless I also translate into Spanish and English. A native speaker with a good general or technical education will proofread the translated text. At this point I would like to say that proofreading is appropriate even with translations into German, my native tongue, or the editing of any kind of texts. Some time ago this was the normal procedure; nowadays people rely on the auto correction of their word processing programme, sometimes leading to quite funny consequences. .
  
  
• Interpreting
  Since more than 10 years I have worked as an interpreter for local courts and the Guardia Civil in the Province of Cadiz. I also accompany private persons to town-halls, lawyers, the notary public, etc. Some unfortunate people have to learn the hard way that especially in the latter case it is very important to translate the contents of the issued documents in order to avoid any mistakes.
  
  
• Language lessons
  I would like to mention straight at the beginning that it is a lifelong venture to learn a language; it is even possible to forget parts of the mother tongue. Of course you can understand the basics in about half a year and you will be faster in learning Spanish if you speak another Romance Language but experience is the best teacher.
  I give language lessons in all three languages for beginners and advanced students and I provide for special needs of each and every student. English speakers, trying to learn Spanish, seem to have problems with the many grammatical forms and endings which do not exist in English. Therefore some feel better if the teacher is able to speak their own tongue; others prefer to learn the language of a native speaker. The election of the appropriate teacher might also depend on likes and dislikes. In any case, you will be on the safe side if you choose a trained language teacher, who can explain grammar and sentence structure well - you also would not buy your bread at the plumber’s.
